Speed Skate PEI’s first “Fun Meet” of the season is fast approaching. It will be held on Saturday afternoon, December 19, from 12:45 to 4:30 pm. The Fun Meet is a chance for new and experienced skaters alike to enjoy some friendly competition with their peers. Skaters will race in four or more events (both traditional and “non-traditional” races), plus a relay or other special event. We hope everyone can join us for the races, snacks, prizes, ribbons and FUN with other members of both our Charlottetown and Eastern Kings clubs.
Please let us know by Tuesday, December 15, if you will be participating or not, so that we can organize the races and events in advance, with appropriate sized races and groupings of similar ability. There is no charge to participate, but we need you to click here to let us know your plans.
This year, we’re also pleased that we will have Chris Keough of Keough Photography in attendance. Chris attends various sporting events and his sports pictures and collages are always a popular item. If you would like to ensure that Chris gets some shots of your favourite skater(s), please let us know in advance (along with the skater helmet cover # if you know it) so we can pass that info to Chris in advance. His time will be limited by our short event, so he’ll work on satisfying any advance requests first.
